rexhalla began in early 2024 as a small, private survival server launched shortly after a resurgence in interest around classic style Minecraft multiplayer experiences. Initially, it was created just for a few friends to play together, explore the world, and relive the feeling of early sandbox adventures. A few months later, the server was opened to the public with no strict rules players were encouraged to do whatever they wanted, even if it meant complete chaos. What was meant to be a short lived social experiment turned into something much more a passionate and growing community began to form. The server's founders then made the decision to keep rexhalla online for as long as there was player interest. Since then, the world has remained the same, growing naturally with its player base. Although the exact date of the world's creation has already faded from memory, it's estimated to be sometime in mid 2024.

In late 2024 and throughout 2025, rexhalla experienced a surge in popularity thanks to exposure on YouTube and other social platforms. What was once a nearly abandoned project quickly turned into a thriving hub, attracting hundreds of new players each day. With continued support from its loyal community, the server now shows no signs of slowing down and is expected to remain online indefinitely.
